Gave an award to Stephen Fry today for the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA) – he really is a lovely man. His acceptance speech departed from an E M Forster quote I had used to introduce him into a beautiful and erudite discourse on the things that are really important in life – friendship, curiosity, kindness – and how humanists and perhaps LGBT humanists in particular are well placed to appreciate this.
